Does a wireless alarm need Wi-Fi?

Somfy's security cameras use WiFi to send you recordings and images via push notifications. However, if you're worried about power cuts interrupting your WiFi connection, the Somfy One+ camera and wireless alarm system stores the images in the device's memory card if WiFi is lost.
